1. How to repair my meter box: replace meter box hinges

 

 

Most of the time, the first degradation you will notice on your meter box is around its hinges. After buying new hinges, you will need to replace them on your meter box door as follows:

 

  1. Insert the solid stainless steel pin into the pre-drilled hole and tap with a hammer until securely in place.

  2. Insert the brass spring pin into the pre-drilled hole and gently tap with a piece of timber until securely in place.

 

Note: Do not hit the spring pin directly with a hammer

2. How to repair my meter box: fit a replacement meter box door

 

 

If your meter box door is badly damaged, you may have to replace it with a new one. To do this, carry out the following instructions:

 

  1. Hold the door upright and insert the solid stainless steel pin into the bottom recess.

  2. Press in the brass spring pin fully and slide into the top recess allowing the pin to spring back into the pre-drilled hole.

  3. Close the door as usual and lock.

3. How to repair my meter box: replace a meter box latch

 

 

Sometimes, it’s the latch of your meter box that you need to replace:

 

  1. Place the latch (40x21x5mm) section on the inside of the door.

  2. From the outside of the door, insert the wavy washer and then the latch post, clicking into place.

  3. Turn the key in the lock to check if you replace the latch correctly.

4. How to repair my meter box: replacing a meter box lock

 

 

If your latch is damaged, you may need to replace the lock at the same time:

 

  1. From the inside, insert the door bolt through the lock.

  2. Put the wavy washer and the star lock washer on the door bolt from the outside of the door.

  3. Ensure the wavy washer and the star lock washer are fixed firmly in place.
