Step 1: Acquire a replacement gas meter box

Step 2: Remove the damaged gas meter box

Removing the damaged/old lid and frame of the meter box is a straightforward process, you will need to take out the fixing studs on the base and lid. Once this is done, you can lift the frame up and pull it out from the box. Be mindful when carrying out the removal process, check to make sure that the placement of your fingers is such that they are not able to be snagged or damaged.

Step 3: Fit in the new, replacement gas meter box

Once you removed the old gas meter box, it is time to fit in your brand-new one. Firstly, slot the outer door and frame over the lip of the box mounted on the wall. Step 4: Close the new gas meter box

It is done! Now, to ensure a good security, you will just need to close the door as you would normally do. The door may feature a slam-shut lock (SSL), or possibly a turn key lock (TKL).
